The 2004 Irondale Winter Guard:

Sport of the Mozarts!

This year marks the 15th competitive season of the Irondale Winter Guard. We are excited to bring you our 2004 production.

This year's show is based on the famous choral piece the Requiem Mass by Mozart. Being in Scholastic World Class for the second year, the staff wanted to revisit this piece of music and explore it at a world class level. And we just all really like it!!!

The show will have many of the same qualities you have come to expect and enjoy from Irondale, incredible performers, great floor and music that we know you will enjoy listening to! We do not intend to translate the Requiem literally, rather take this profound piece of music and give it a fresh and contemporary visual presentation. While watching the show, focus on the complexity of the show as well as the performance qualities the members bring to it. It is a hard show but the members are doing a great job!

We have 17 very dedicated members this year and we know that with their hard work they will do great things. We have 5 seniors, 8 juniors, a sophomore and 3 freshmen.  A great mix of students. The staff this year includes: Gary Swanson, Jen Piche, Alison Mullaney, Kim Presley, Andy Combites, Shubhang Dave’, Julianne Stennes, and Jessica Kracl.

Once again we are gearing up to go to WGI World Championships in San Diego this April. The national arena has been a very rewarding and exciting end to our season and we are very excited to compete again in the Scholastic World Class...wish us luck!!!!!

Irondale Winter Guard has been NSC Scholastic State Champion nine times (1993, 1996-2003). WGI Scholastic World Finalist in 2003 and the 2002 WGI Scholastic Open Class World Champions.
