This year
marks Irondale’s Winter Guard’s
16th
competitive season with its show entitled
“Bach’s
Five.”
This year's show is based on five musical selections written by J.S. Bach
including:
“Cello
Suite”, “Minuet in G”,
“Toccata
and Fugue”, “Little Fugue in G Minor”
and “Jesu, Joy of Man’s
Desiring”.
We are taking these
very famous Bach tunes and
stringing them together in a
new and interesting way.
Multiple layering and
individual performance
will be a forte’ of the
Guard again this year. Enjoy!

We have 12 very dedicated members
this year and we know that with their hard work they will do great things. We
have 5 seniors, 2 juniors, 3 sophomores and 2 freshmen; a great mix of
students. The staff this year includes: Gary Swanson, Jen Piche,
Shubhang Dave’, Kim
Presley, Andy Combites, Julianne Stennes, and Jessica Kracl.
Once again we are gearing up to go to WGI World Championships in Dayton Ohio
this April. The national arena has been a very rewarding and exciting end to
our season and we are very excited to compete again in the Scholastic Open
Class...wish us luck!!!!!
Within the
North Star Circuit Irondale as been
Scholastic State Champions nine times (1993,
1996-2003)
and Independent
State Champions in
2004.
They have
been WGI Scholastic World Finalists in 2003
and the WGI Scholastic Open Class World Champions in 2002.
