Drumline Click here for the Updated Drumline Pages The Irondale Winter Drumline is in it’s 15th year of winter competition. The drumline is an extension of the Irondale Marching Knights program which competes both locally and nationally during the fall, including trips to the Band Of America regional championships. The original purpose of the winter drumline’s conception was to train novice students for a marching band that was in it’s early stages. Through the years the Irondale Marching Knights have built a program based on dedication, hard work, and a commitment to musical and visual exploration and education for all students. The 2004 Irondale Drumline will be performing their show based on the abstract expressionist ideas of painter Jackson Pollock. Musical selections for this years show include selections from the motion picture soundtrack “Pollock” by Jeff Beal, and original compositions by the Irondale staff. We hope you enjoy our performance. The Irondale Drumline is under the instruction of Paul Weber, Matt Ferry, Mike Ferry, Justin Ashton, Ben Firkus, Julianne Stennes, Caitie Powers, Matt Richards, Megan Johnson, Jon Kamrud, and Ross Martin. Design consultants include Gary Swanson, Bill Sucha, and Andy Combites. Member captains are Teigan Gulliver and Ryan Schmidt. Parent coordinator for the drumline is Tami Schmidt. The Irondale Drumline was the Scholastic Open Class Bronze Medalist at the 2003 WGI Word Championships, and will be traveling to San Diego, California this April to compete in the 2004 WGI World Championships.
